Nuyth Earrings take their name from Nut — the Egyptian sky goddess, one of the most ancient and visually magnificent deities in the world. Nut is the sky itself: she arches over the earth in the form of a vast woman, her body the dome of heaven, her fingertips touching the western horizon and her toes in the eastern.
Every evening, she swallows the sun god Ra as he sets in the west. Every morning, she gives birth to him again as he rises in the east. As a result, day and night, light and darkness, are both contained within Nut’s body — the sky goddess who holds the entire cycle of existence inside her form. Furthermore, Nut’s body is the star field itself: she is depicted in Egyptian tomb paintings covered in stars, her blue-black form scattered with the lights of heaven.
The Nuyth Earrings carry the form of those embedded stars: baguette-cut gems set in bar earrings, each rectangular stone a precise point of concentrated color within the clean architectural gold — the stars of Nut’s body made wearable.
The Design of the Nuyth Earrings
The Nuyth Earrings translate the star-embedded body of the sky goddess into 18k gold. Each piece is a bar — a clean architectural form that holds baguette-cut gemstones along its length: rectangular stones set in a precise sequence, each one a point of concentrated color within the gold.
The baguette cut is the most architectural of gem cuts, its rectangular form echoing the clean lines of the bar. As a result, the Nuyth Earrings read as both celestial map and precision instrument: the sky held in horizontal form, the stars aligned in their positions.
Stars in the Gold Bar
The baguette gems in their gold bar setting are the soul of this design. Specifically, the rectangular stones create a rhythm of color and light along the bar — each gem catching the light within its faceted depths, the gold between them holding them in sequence like the darkness between stars.
Worn as drops, the Nuyth Earrings hang from the ear with composed horizontal authority. Furthermore, as the wearer moves, the baguette gems catch the light at their precisely angled facets, so the bar seems to pulse with color. In this way, the Nuyth Earrings carry Nut’s essential quality: the sky as a form that holds light within itself.
Nuyth Earrings in 18k Gold and Colored Gemstones
In rose gold the bar glows with warmth, set with baguette rubies that burn along its length like stars seen through warm air. In white gold the Nuyth Earrings turn cool and celestial, baguette sapphires reading along the bar like the deep blue of Nut’s body against the dark.
In yellow gold they radiate with full golden intensity, set with baguette diamonds — the clearest expression of starlight within the architectural gold form.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Nuyth earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The baguette bar demands digital modeling: every stone setting must be placed in precise alignment so the gems read as a continuous sequence, the bar must be proportioned so the stones dominate without overpowering, and the two earrings must mirror each other exactly.
Hand-finishing polishes the gold to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
