Savitr Pendant
$0.01
An oval Om pendant in 18k gold, set with a ruby, sapphire, or diamond at the heart of the sacred symbol. The Savitr Pendant is named for the Vedic solar deity invoked in the Gayatri Mantra — the divine light that illuminates and impels.

Savitr Pendant takes its name from Savitr — the Vedic deity of the sun’s animating and creative power, whose name means the one who impels, the one who sets in motion. Savitr is not simply the sun as a physical object in the sky: he is the sun understood as a force, the light that does not merely illuminate but activates, that wakes the sleeping world and sets the day in motion.
In the Rigveda, Savitr is invoked to set the cosmos moving at dawn and to bring it gently to rest at dusk. As a result, Savitr governs the thresholds of the day — the moments of transition, the points where darkness becomes light and light becomes darkness.
Furthermore, Savitr is the deity of the Gayatri Mantra — the most sacred mantra in the Hindu tradition, recited at dawn, noon, and dusk by those who wish to align themselves with the divine light that sustains existence: Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Svaḥ, Tat Savitur Vareṇyaṃ, Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi, Dhiyo Yo Naḥ Pracodayāt.
We meditate on the divine radiance of Savitr; may he illuminate our minds. The Om symbol at the heart of the Savitr Pendant is the primordial sound, the vibration that contains all creation: the first word of the Gayatri Mantra, the resonance of Savitr’s own nature.
The Design of the Savitr Pendant
The Savitr Pendant translates the divine solar light into 18k gold. The pendant is an oval — the form of the sun seen obliquely, the egg of solar potential — and on its surface the Om symbol is rendered in gold: the flowing, complex form of the sacred syllable, its curves carrying the quality of a sound that contains everything.
A gemstone is set at the heart of the Om: a diamond, ruby, or sapphire that reads as the concentrated point of divine light at the center of the sacred sound. As a result, the Savitr Pendant carries both the solar power of Savitr and the primordial resonance of Om in a single wearable form.
The Sacred Syllable
The Om symbol with its central gemstone is the soul of this design. Specifically, the flowing curves of the Om form carry a visual complexity that rewards looking at closely — the sweeping arc of the upper curve, the lower curve that grounds it, the dot above that represents the transcendent state.
Worn close to the body, the Savitr Pendant carries the vibration of the sacred syllable against the skin. Furthermore, the gemstone at the Om’s heart catches the light with an intensity that reads as the concentrated solar presence of Savitr himself.
In this way, the pendant carries the quality of the Gayatri Mantra: the invitation to align with the divine light that is always already present, always already illuminating.
Savitr Pendant in 18k Gold and Colored Gemstones
In rose gold the oval Om pendant glows with warmth, set with a ruby that burns at the heart of the sacred syllable like the sun at the moment of rising. In white gold the Savitr Pendant turns cool and luminous, a sapphire reading within the Om with the blue intensity of sky at the height of noon.
In yellow gold it radiates with full golden intensity, a brilliant diamond at the center — the most vivid possible solar light at the heart of the most sacred symbol. Whichever stone you choose, the Om holds its resonance.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Savitr Pendant was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The Om symbol on the oval surface demands digital modeling: every curve of the sacred syllable must be placed with accuracy so the symbol reads as the actual Om rather than an approximation, the gemstone setting must hold the stone at exactly the focal point of the design, and the pendant must hang true so the Om faces forward.
Hand-finishing polishes every surface to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
Like every Friszman MD creation, the Savitr Pendant is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold.
