Ichthys Pendants
$0.01
A sculptural Christian pendant in 18k gold, combining the ichthys fish, the cross, and the heart — identity, sacrifice, and love — in a single sacred form. The Ichthys pendant carries the oldest symbol of Christian faith, worn in secret before the cross was ever spoken aloud.
Made to order in rose, white, or yellow 18k gold.
Ichthys pendant takes its name from the oldest symbol of Christian faith. The word ichthys is the Greek word for fish. For the earliest Christians in the Roman world, it held a deeper meaning: an acronym for Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter — Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. Before the cross, there was the fish.
In the second and third centuries, when open Christian worship was dangerous, believers used the ichthys as a secret sign. One person would draw a single arc in the dirt; a second person, recognising it, would complete the fish with another arc. In this way, they could identify each other without words.
As a result, the ichthys carries a meaning that precedes the public life of the Church: it is a symbol formed in hiddenness, in trust, in the decision to believe.
Furthermore, the cross and the heart entered Christian visual tradition as the faith grew: the cross as the mark of sacrifice and resurrection, the heart as the sign of love that accepts both. Together, these three symbols — fish, cross, heart — tell the whole story.
The Design of the Ichthys Pendant
The Ichthys pendant brings those three sacred symbols together in 18k gold. The form is sculptural and composed: a pendant that holds the fish, the cross, and the heart in a single unified design, so the piece reads as both jewellery and confession of faith.
As a result, the Ichthys pendant is made to be worn close to the body, in the tradition of the reliquary and the talisman — a sacred form that protects and identifies the person who carries it.
Therefore, it is a pendant for those who understand what each symbol means and want all three close at once.
Faith, Sacrifice, and Love
The three symbols are the soul of this design. Specifically, the ichthys is identity: the declaration of who you are and what you believe. The cross is sacrifice: the mark of what was given. The heart is love: the reason for both.
Together, they form a complete statement of Christian faith in a single wearable form. Worn close to the skin, the Ichthys pendant carries that statement silently, the way the first Christians carried the fish — visibly for those who know how to look, privately for everyone else.
Furthermore, the sculptural gold gives the ancient symbols a presence that is both contemporary and rooted in the oldest layers of the tradition.
Ichthys Pendant in 18k Gold
In rose gold the pendant glows with warmth, the three symbols reading intimate and personal, like something made to be held. In white gold the Ichthys pendant turns cool and luminous, the sculpted forms catching light with clean precision.
In yellow gold it radiates with full golden intensity — the most traditional pairing of sacred symbol and precious metal, carried through two thousand years of Christian devotional art. Whichever metal you choose, the symbols hold their meaning.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Ichthys pendant was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The sculptural form demands digital modeling: every symbol must read clearly at small scale, the forms must combine into a visually unified whole, and the pendant must hang correctly so the design faces outward when worn.
Additionally, the piece must carry visual depth without feeling heavy. Hand-finishing then polishes every surface to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
