David Pendant

The Star of David, Magen David in Hebrew, meaning “Shield of David”, carries within its six points one of the most profound geometries in human history. Two overlapping triangles, one pointing toward heaven, one toward earth, their union representing the connection between the divine and the mortal, between what is above and what lies below.

In Jewish legend, King David was a man of extraordinary contradictions, warrior and poet, sinner and saint, a king whose prayers were said to be powerful enough to bring down things from Heaven itself. According to ancient midrashim, Adam gave up seventy years of his own life so that David might live. The Talmud records that David was born and died on Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks, a life perfectly framed by sacred time.

The David pendant translates this ancient symbol into a new architectural language. Two stars nest within each other, an outer polished frame giving way to a matte inner star, depth within depth, with a central diamond at the very heart and six stones marking each point of the outer form. In rose gold, deep rubies burn at each tip around a luminous diamond center. In white gold, cool sapphires orbit the diamond with quiet sovereignty. In yellow gold, seven diamonds illuminate the entire form from within.
