Gwydion Ring

$0.01

A wide signet ring in brushed 18k gold, its face alive with raised organic spheres of varying sizes, a constellation frozen in metal, inspired by Gwydion, the Welsh magician whose fortress became the Milky Way itself.

Description

In Welsh mythology, Gwydion was the great magician of the House of Dôn, a trickster, a shapeshifter, a weaver of illusions so convincing they could alter the course of kingdoms. His name lives on in the stars: Caer Gwydion, the Fortress of Gwydion, is the traditional Welsh name for the Milky Way — that vast river of light scattered across the night sky, said to mark the path of the magician’s celestial home.

The Gwydion ring takes that image literally. Across the wide, rounded face of a brushed 18k gold signet, dozens of raised spheres emerge from the surface in varying sizes, large and small, clustered and scattered, each one catching the light differently. The effect is unmistakable: a galaxy captured in gold, a fragment of the Milky Way made wearable.

The band itself is clean and architectural, its matte finish providing the perfect contrast to the organic, almost living quality of the sphere-covered face. No gemstones compete for attention, this is pure gold artistry, the metal itself becoming the subject.

In rose gold the spheres glow warmly against the brushed surface. In white gold they shimmer like ice under moonlight. In yellow gold they radiate with the full warmth of a summer constellation.

Each Gwydion ring is individually designed using 3D software and hand-finished in São Paulo, Brazil. Made entirely to order.
