Minimalist rectangular bar stud earrings in 18k gold, their form drawn from the monolith — the standing stone, the stele, the ancient marker that declares a human presence against the sky.

Made to order.

Description

Rodeen Earrings draw their form from the oldest architectural gesture in the human world: the standing stone. Before temples, before cities, before writing, human beings placed upright stones in the landscape and gave them meaning.

The megalithic monuments of Europe — the standing stones of Carnac, the circles of Avebury, the trilithons of Stonehenge — are among the oldest constructed objects on earth, raised by peoples whose names and languages are entirely unknown to us, whose purpose in setting these stones upright can only be inferred from their alignment with solstices and stars.

As a result, the standing stone carries the weight of the most ancient human intention: the mark that says we were here, we noticed where the sun rose, we understood that the sky moves and the stone does not.

Furthermore, the stele — the carved stone pillar of the ancient Near East and Mediterranean world — carried a second quality: it marked not merely a presence but a statement. The Code of Hammurabi, the victory stele of Naram-Sin, the funerary steles of ancient Egypt — each one was a rectangular upright stone that declared something that was meant to last.

The Rodeen Earrings carry that form: the rectangular standing stone as a stud worn at the ear, the monolith made minimal and precise.

The Design of the Rodeen Earrings

The Rodeen Earrings translate the monolith into 18k gold. Each piece is a clean rectangular bar — the stele’s profile in miniature, upright and composed, its proportions calibrated so the form reads as architectural rather than arbitrary.

The surface is smooth and undecorated: the monolith has no need of ornament because it is already a statement. As a result, the Rodeen Earrings carry their meaning through proportion and presence alone. Therefore, they are earrings for those who understand that the most powerful forms are the ones that need nothing added to them.

The Standing Stone

The rectangular bar form is the soul of this design. Specifically, the clean vertical lines and flat surfaces of the bar create a stud that reads as resolved and intentional from every angle — not decorative but declarative.

Worn at the ear, the Rodeen Earrings present the flat face of the bar forward, the way a standing stone presents its face toward the rising sun. Furthermore, the smooth gold surface catches the light evenly, so the earring reads as quietly luminous rather than brilliantly reflective.

In this way, the Rodeen Earrings carry the quality of the ancient standing stone: the presence that does not explain itself, that simply is, that has been there longer than the question.

Rodeen Earrings in 18k Gold

In rose gold the rectangular bar glows with warmth, reading rich and intimate, like sandstone in evening light. In white gold the Rodeen Earrings turn cool and precise, the bar reading with the clarity of pale granite on a clear morning.

In yellow gold they radiate with full golden intensity — the most direct echo of the ancient stele in its most precious material, the declaration that was meant to be seen. Whichever metal you choose, the form holds its ground.

Craftsmanship and 3D Precision

Each Rodeen earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The rectangular bar demands perfection in its simplicity: every surface must be flat and even, every edge must be clean and consistent, and the two earrings of a pair must mirror each other exactly in dimension.

Hand-finishing polishes every surface to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.

A Made-to-Order Piece

Like every Friszman MD creation, the Rodeen Earrings is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold.
