Haygees Earrings

In Greek mythology, the aegis was no ordinary shield. Forged by Hephaestus and carried by Athena herself, it was described as a thing of terrible beauty, its surface gleaming like scaly snake-skin, bearing the severed head of Medusa at its center, fringed with golden tassels that had once been living serpents. To look upon the aegis was to feel the full weight of divine authority. It did not merely protect, it transformed the one who carried it into something untouchable.

The Haygees earrings translate that ancient power into a language of pure geometry. Each piece is a tall, rounded column of 18k gold, a vertical statement worn close to the face, its polished exterior surface carved with a series of elliptical recesses, each one revealing a contrasting matte interior. The interplay between the high-polish outer form and the sand-brushed inner windows creates a visual rhythm that shifts with every angle and every light source.

No gemstones. No excess. Just the tension between two finishes, two states of the same precious metal, speaking to each other across the surface of the piece. In rose gold the warmth of the metal makes the contrast intimate and rich. In white gold the polished and matte surfaces achieve an almost architectural coolness.
