Aurelys Earrings

In the myths of Nonnus, Aura was fury made flesh, a huntress of the mountain heights, daughter of the Titan Lelantos, so fiercely devoted to her own freedom that she provoked the wrath of Artemis herself. Her story is one of devastating extremes: wild beauty and uncontrollable rage, divine retribution and tragic transformation. She was, above all else, someone who could not be contained.

The Aurelys earrings wear that contradiction beautifully. Each piece is a bold oval disc of polished 18k gold, substantial and confident in its presence, but pierced through with circular openings of varying sizes that remove as much material as they leave. The result is a lattice of pure gold framing voids of pure darkness, the solid and the empty held in perfect equilibrium within the polished outer border.

The perforations are not random, they cluster and scatter across the oval face with the organic logic of a natural pattern, like bubbles rising, like seeds in a pod, like the arrangement of stars in a small corner of the sky. Light passes through them, catching the polished inner edges of each hole and creating halos of brightness against the darkness behind.

In rose gold the disc has a warmth and sensuality that softens the graphic boldness of the perforations. In white gold it achieves a precision that feels almost architectural. In yellow gold the full luminosity of the metal makes each opening sing against the polished frame.
