Shrivatsy Pendant — inspired by the Srivatsa, the sacred mark of Vishnu. A handcrafted gold pendant where two textures meet at a central gemstone. Available in White Gold with Sapphire, Yellow Gold with Diamond, and Rose Gold with Ruby.

Description

Shrivatsy Pendant draws its name from the Srivatsa, the sacred mark said to reside on the chest of Vishnu, the preserver of the universe and one of the most important deities in the Hindu tradition. The Srivatsa is not merely a symbol. It is a presence: the place on Vishnu’s body where the goddess Lakshmi dwells eternally, her home within the divine form of her consort, the union of the goddess of abundance and the god of preservation made permanent in sacred geometry. In Hindu cosmology, this mark represents the union of the divine feminine and masculine, the point where the cosmos finds its balance, where creation and preservation exist in perfect relationship. It is said that Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of Vishnu, will carry this mark as a sign of his arrival into the world — the sacred geometry appearing again at the moment when the cycle of ages turns and the world begins again.

The Shrivatsy Pendant captures that sacred geometry in gold. A rounded rectangular form, complete, contained, balanced, is divided by a single fluid curve that separates two realms of texture: matte and mirror, rough and smooth, the surface of the earth and the surface of still water. The two textures do not compete. They complete each other, the way the divine feminine and masculine complete each other in the mythology that inspired this piece, the way Lakshmi and Vishnu are not two separate presences but one unified force expressed in two aspects.

At the point where the two worlds meet, a gemstone rests like a divine presence, quiet and absolute, the still center of the composition, the point of balance where the curve arrives and the two textures converge. It is not the largest element of the Shrivatsy Pendant. It does not need to be. In the mythology of the Srivatsa, the sacred mark is not the loudest thing on the body of Vishnu,  it is the most significant. Significance and scale are not the same thing.

Each gemstone version of the Shrivatsy Pendant tells the same sacred story in a different light. White Gold with Sapphire is the most serene, the cool precision of the metal and the deep blue of the stone together creating a pendant of extraordinary calm, the cosmos in its most ordered state. Yellow Gold with Diamond is the most luminous, the warmth of the metal and the brilliance of the stone recalling the solar energy of Vishnu himself, radiant and sustaining. Rose Gold with Ruby is the most intimate, the warmth of the metal and the depth of the stone together creating something that feels personal, devotional, worn close to the heart as the Srivatsa itself resides close to the heart of the divine.

The Shrivatsy Pendant was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing in São Paulo, Brazil. The fluid curve that divides the two textures required careful digital modeling, it must flow naturally across the face of the pendant, its position precisely calculated to place the gemstone at the exact point of balance. The dual texture surface is finished separately, matte and mirror worked to their own standards before the piece is complete. Every Shrivatsy Pendant is produced individually, by hand.

All Friszman MD pieces are made to order in Brazil, crafted individually and finished by hand. Production takes between four and six weeks, and every piece arrives in Friszman’s signature luxury packaging.

The Shrivatsy Pendant is for those who carry their faith close to the heart, and who understand that the most sacred things are also the most precisely made.
