Parees Earrings

Bifurcated drop earrings in 18k gold, each set with a ruby, sapphire, or diamond at the point of the fork. The Parees Earrings carry the Judgment of Paris — the forked choice between three goddesses whose outcome ended an age.
Made to order.
Parees Earrings take their name from Paris of Troy — the prince whose judgment set in motion the greatest war in Greek mythology. The story begins at a wedding: at the marriage of Peleus and Thetis, Eris, the goddess of discord, threw a golden apple inscribed with the words for the fairest.
Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite each claimed it. Zeus refused to judge between his wife and his daughters, and appointed Paris instead — a mortal prince who was living as a shepherd on the slopes of Mount Ida, considered by the gods to be the most beautiful man alive.
As a result, the fate of Troy was placed in the hands of a young man with no preparation for the weight of what he was asked to decide. Each goddess offered a bribe: Hera offered power and dominion over kingdoms, Athena offered wisdom and invincibility in battle, Aphrodite offered the most beautiful woman in the world.
Furthermore, Paris chose Aphrodite. He went to Sparta, where Helen was the queen of Menelaus, and he brought her back to Troy — whether by seduction, by enchantment, or by force, the ancient sources disagree.
What they agree on is the consequence: the Greeks came, ten years of war followed, Troy burned, and a world ended. The fork in the road that Paris stood at on Mount Ida was not just three paths to three prizes.
It was the fork between the world that existed before his choice and the world that came after it. The Parees Earrings carry that form: the bifurcation as the visual language of the moment of irreversible decision.
The Design of the Parees Earrings
The Parees Earrings translate the forked choice of Paris into 18k gold. Each piece is a drop that descends from the ear and then bifurcates — the form dividing into two paths that separate and continue. At the point of the fork, a gemstone is set: a diamond, ruby, or sapphire that reads as the concentrated moment of the decision itself, the point where the path divides and one direction is chosen.
As a result, the Parees Earrings carry both the visual language of the fork and its mythological weight: the moment of choice, held in gold, at the ear of the person who wears it.
The Forked Decision
The bifurcated form is the soul of this design. Specifically, the fork creates a visual event within the earring: the drop descends and then divides, and the eye follows both paths simultaneously, unable to choose between them — the way Paris was unable to choose without consequence.
Worn as drops, the Parees Earrings descend from the ear and open outward, their two paths framing the neck with the geometry of the irresolvable decision.\
Furthermore, the gemstone at the fork catches the light at the exact point of bifurcation, so the stone reads as the brightest point in the form — the place where everything was decided. In this way, the earrings carry Paris’s essential quality: the person who stood at the fork in the road and chose.
Parees Earrings in 18k Gold and Colored Gemstones
In rose gold the bifurcated form glows with warmth, set with a ruby at the fork — the red of passion and of fire, the color of Aphrodite’s gift and its consequences. In white gold the Parees Earrings turn cool and precise, a sapphire reading at the fork with the blue of Athena’s clear judgment, the path not taken.
In yellow gold they radiate with full golden intensity, a brilliant diamond at the point of decision — Hera’s golden apple, the prize that started everything. Each gemstone holds a different answer to Paris’s question.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Parees earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing.
The bifurcated drop demands digital modeling: the point of the fork must be precisely placed so the earring reads as composed rather than accidentally divided, the two arms of the fork must be symmetrical in their descent, and the gemstone setting must hold the stone at exactly the point of bifurcation.
Additionally, the two earrings of a pair must mirror each other exactly. Hand-finishing polishes every surface to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
