Arsyonee earrings are named for Arsinoe IV — the fourth child of Ptolemy XII and half-sister to Cleopatra, and for a brief, turbulent moment, co-ruler of all Egypt. History chose to remember her as a rival, but she was first a queen: commanding and composed, carrying the full weight of a dying dynasty on her shoulders with remarkable dignity. She was eighteen years old when she led an army. She was twenty-three when she was murdered at the order of her sister. In the centuries since, she has been largely forgotten — which is perhaps the greatest injustice the ancient world dealt her.
The Queen Behind the Earrings
Arsinoe IV lived in the shadow of one of history’s most famous figures, and yet her own story is extraordinary. She held Egypt during Julius Caesar’s siege of Alexandria, leading the defense of the city when others had surrendered to circumstance. She understood power not as something given but as something claimed — and she claimed it, fully, at great personal cost.
The Arsyonee earrings speak in her register. A slender column of 18k gold descends in one fluid, uninterrupted sweep — austere and architectural at the top, then softening at its base into a sculptural scroll, a coil of gathered momentum that cradles a single bezel-set stone. It is a design that knows the difference between authority and aggression, between elegance and restraint. It is both, simultaneously.
The Design of the Arsyonee Earrings
The geometry is entirely intentional. The long vertical line suggests authority — the height of command, the unbroken descent of someone who does not waver. The curved flourish below suggests feeling held in perfect control — the emotional intelligence of someone who understood that power is not only force, it is composure. Together they form a portrait: elongated, regal, and impossible to ignore.
Ruby glowing deep in rose gold, sapphire cool and sovereign in white, diamond luminous in yellow — each version of the Arsyonee earrings tells the same story with a different light. The ruby speaks of passion and will. The sapphire speaks of clarity and command. The diamond speaks of brilliance that cannot be diminished.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Arsyonee earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing in São Paulo, Brazil. The transition from the clean vertical column to the sculptural scroll at the base requires precise modeling — the curve must flow naturally from the straight, the scroll must close at exactly the right point, and the stone setting must sit at the exact center of the flourish. Every proportion was resolved before the first gram of gold was poured.
Arsyonee Earrings in 18k Gold
The Arsyonee earrings are available in Rose Gold with Ruby, White Gold with Sapphire, and Yellow Gold with Diamond. Each is made entirely to order, produced individually and finished by hand. Production takes between four and six weeks, and every pair arrives in Friszman’s signature luxury packaging.
Arsinoe IV was one of the last of the Ptolemies. The Arsyonee earrings are her portrait — a piece for those who carry more than anyone knows, and who do so with the particular grace of someone who has decided that no difficulty will show on the surface.
