Description

Shambalee Ring takes its name from Shambhala — the legendary hidden kingdom of Tibetan Buddhist and Hindu tradition, described in ancient texts as a paradise of enlightenment concealed somewhere in the Himalayas or the lands beyond them, accessible only to those whose minds are sufficiently purified to perceive it.

In Tibetan Buddhist teaching, Shambhala is the Pure Land of the Rigden kings, where the Kalachakra tantra — the wheel of time — is preserved and practiced without interruption. As a result, Shambhala is not merely a geographical place but a state of consciousness: the kingdom that exists when the mind’s ordinary confusion has been sufficiently dissolved.

Furthermore, the mandala is the primary visual language of Tibetan Buddhist practice: the geometric diagram of the enlightened world, the map of a mind that has been completely organized according to sacred principles.

Each mandala has a center — the seat of the primary deity — and a series of concentric patterns that radiate outward, each ring carrying specific teachings and qualities. The Shambalee Ring carries that mandala geometry across the surface of the wide band: the sacred pattern of Shambhala spread around the finger, the hidden kingdom made wearable.

The Design of the Shambalee Ring

The Shambalee Ring translates the mandala’s sacred geometry into 18k gold. The band is wide and carries the mandala pattern across its full surface: concentric geometric elements, repeated and varied, that read as both architectural and devotional.

In two-tone versions, two metals articulate different elements of the mandala’s structure, so the band carries both the warm and the cool aspects of the sacred geometry. As a result, the Shambalee Ring reads as both jewellery and sacred map: the geometry of Shambhala worn on the finger.

The Mandala of the Hidden Kingdom

The mandala geometry across the wide band is the soul of this design. Specifically, the repeated geometric elements create a surface of rhythm and depth that rewards slow looking — the pattern revealing more detail as the eye adjusts to its complexity.

Worn on the finger, the Shambalee Ring carries its sacred geometry in every direction at once, the mandala pattern always present from any angle of view. Furthermore, the wide band gives the mandala pattern room to develop, so the geometry reads as complete rather than compressed.

In this way, the Shambalee Ring carries the quality of Shambhala itself: the sense that a complete and ordered world is present, accessible to anyone who takes the time to look carefully enough.

Shambalee Ring in 18k Gold

In rose gold the mandala geometry glows with warmth, the sacred pattern reading rich and vivid. In white gold the Shambalee Ring turns cool and precise, the geometry reading with the clarity of line in pale light.

In yellow gold it radiates with full golden intensity, the mandala pattern at its most vivid. In two-tone versions, contrasting metals articulate the mandala’s different geometric levels, carrying both the warmth of devotion and the clarity of wisdom. Whichever metal you choose, the geometry holds its order.

Craftsmanship and 3D Precision

Each Shambalee Ring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The mandala pattern on the wide band demands digital modeling: the geometric elements must be placed with mathematical precision so the sacred pattern reads as correct at every point around the band, and the ring must be available in precise sizes while maintaining the pattern’s integrity.

Hand-finishing polishes every surface. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.

A Made-to-Order Piece

Like every Friszman MD creation, the Shambalee Ring is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold.
