Description

Dathusy Ring is a bold signet ring that carries an oval face of brushed metal upon which an enigmatic figure emerges, part flame, part antler, part deep-sea creature rising from the unknown. It is a ring that does not ask to be understood. It asks only to be worn with intention.

The figure engraved on the Dathusy Ring defies a single reading. Look once and see flames curling upward, the ancient fire symbol found in shamanic traditions from Siberia to the Americas, the sacred flame that purifies and transforms, that marks the threshold between the known and the unknown. Look again and find antlers branching into silence, the unmistakable mark of Cernunnos, the horned god of the Celtic tradition, the lord of wild things, of untamed nature, of the deep forest where the rules of civilization cease to apply. Look a third time and something older surfaces, a creature from depths that have no name, a form from the period before mythology gave names to things, when the world was young enough that everything was still possible.

This ambiguity is intentional. The Dathusy Ring was designed to mean something different to everyone who wears it, a piece of jewelry that functions like a mirror, reflecting back the mythology that each wearer carries within them. For some it will be the fire. For others the antler. For others still the creature from the deep. All three readings are correct. None is more true than another. The figure on the brushed oval face belongs to the wearer the moment the ring is placed on the finger.

There is a long tradition in the history of sacred objects of the intentionally ambiguous, symbols designed not to declare a single meaning but to invite interpretation, to open a space rather than close one. The great mythological symbols of human history — the spiral, the serpent, the eye, the flame, have endured precisely because they cannot be pinned to a single reading. They grow with the person who carries them. The Dathusy Ring belongs to that tradition: a contemporary object with the quality of something ancient, a piece of jewelry that functions as a personal symbol rather than a public statement.

The Dathusy Ring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing in São Paulo, Brazil. The engraved figure on the brushed oval face required careful digital modeling, the forms must be ambiguous enough to sustain multiple readings while remaining coherent as a single composition. The brushed finish of the oval face gives the engraved figure depth and shadow, the texture of the background making the emerging form appear to rise from the metal rather than be carved into it. Each Dathusy Ring is finished entirely by hand, ensuring that every piece carries its own subtle variation, as every personal symbol should.

Available in White Gold, Yellow Gold, and Rose Gold, each finish shifts the quality of the ambiguity. White gold is the most mysterious, the cool, neutral metal giving the engraved figure the quality of something seen in low light, half-remembered. Yellow gold is the most ancient, the warmth of the metal connecting the figure to the long history of sacred gold objects across every civilization. Rose gold is the most intimate, the warm tone making the figure feel personal rather than universal, a symbol that belongs specifically to the wearer.

All Friszman MD pieces are made to order in Brazil, crafted individually and finished by hand. Production takes between four and six weeks, and every piece arrives in Friszman’s signature luxury packaging.

The Dathusy Ring does not ask to be understood. It asks only to be worn, and to mean whatever it needs to mean to the person wearing it.
