Selienne Earrings

Tapered lunar blade stud earrings in 18k gold with three disc accents along the blade, their form evoking the triple moon — waxing crescent, full moon, waning crescent. Inspired by Selene.
Made to order.
Selienne Earrings draw their name and form from Selene and the triple moon — the three-phase understanding of the moon that runs through almost every ancient tradition in the world. The moon does not merely wax and wane: it passes through three distinct states that carry distinct qualities of presence.
The waxing crescent is the moon of beginning, of intention, of the seed placed in the ground. The full moon is the moon of completion, of revelation, of the moment when what was hidden becomes visible.
The waning crescent is the moon of release, of letting go, of the harvest gathered and the field resting. As a result, the triple moon became one of the most universal symbols of feminine cyclical power in the ancient world: found in Greek representations of the three aspects of the moon goddess, in Celtic triple deity forms, in the three faces of Hecate who rules the crossroads, in the Hindu understanding of the three qualities of Shakti.
Furthermore, the blade form of the Selienne Earrings carries its own lunar quality: the crescent blade, the sliver of the new or old moon, is the sharpest and most precise phase of the lunar cycle. Three disc accents on the blade = the three phases, held in sequence along a single form.
The Design of the Selienne Earrings
The Selienne Earrings translate the triple moon into 18k gold. Each piece is a tapered blade stud — a clean, elongated form that narrows to a point, its profile carrying the silhouette of the crescent moon at its thinnest.
Along the blade, three disc accents are placed at equal intervals: each disc a different size or weight, representing the three phases of the moon in their sequence. As a result, the Selienne Earrings carry the complete lunar cycle in a single stud form.
The Three Phases
The three disc accents along the tapered blade are the soul of this design. Specifically, the discs create a visual rhythm along the blade that reads as both measured and alive — three distinct points on a single continuous form, the way the three phases of the moon are distinct but continuous.
Worn as studs, the Selienne Earrings sit close to the ear with the composed authority of objects that carry meaning in their structure.
Furthermore, each disc catches the light independently, so the earring seems to contain three separate points of presence within the single blade form. In this way, the Selienne Earrings carry the quality of the triple moon: the understanding that the same form contains three completely different qualities.
Selienne Earrings in 18k Gold
In rose gold the tapered blade and its three discs glow with warmth, the triple moon reading vivid and intimate against the warm surface. In white gold the Selienne Earrings turn cool and luminous, the blade and discs catching light with the silver clarity of the actual moon.
In yellow gold they radiate with full golden intensity — the triple moon at its most vivid, each phase present and distinct. Whichever metal you choose, the three phases hold their sequence.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Selienne earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The tapered blade with three disc accents demands digital modeling: the taper must be consistent from base to point, each disc must be placed at exactly the right position along the blade, and the two earrings of a pair must mirror each other exactly.
Hand-finishing polishes every surface to a high shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
Like every Friszman MD creation, the Selienne Earrings is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold.
