Virgo Ring takes its name from the sixth sign of the zodiac — the maiden, the earth sign ruled by Mercury, the sign of precision, discernment, and the quality of attention that sees the detail others miss.

In Greek mythology, Virgo is most often identified with Astraea — the goddess of justice and purity, daughter of Zeus and Themis, who lived among human beings during the golden age when the gods and mortals shared the earth.

As each successive age declined from gold to silver to bronze and the world became increasingly cruel and unjust, the other immortals departed one by one for the safety of the heavens. As a result, Astraea was the last of the immortals to remain among human beings, unable to leave them even as they became unworthy of her presence.

Furthermore, when even she finally ascended, she became the constellation Virgo, and her scales became Libra beside her — the goddess of justice carrying her measure of things into the sky, where she could see the whole world at once.

The Virgo Ring carries the glyph of that meticulous and devoted attention: the M of the maiden with its final stroke turning inward, as if returning to examine what it has already passed.

The Design of the Virgo Ring

The Virgo Ring translates the maiden’s glyph into 18k gold. The band carries the Virgo symbol in raised relief: the distinctive M form whose final stroke curves inward rather than extending outward, creating a symbol of something that turns back on itself in careful attention. The glyph sits on a sculpted band that follows the curvature of the finger with composed precision. The Maiden’s Glyph
