Kyshar Ring
$0.01
A faceted geometric band in 18k gold, its clean-cut surface inspired by Kishar — the Babylonian goddess of the terrestrial horizon, born in the primordial waters of the Enuma Elis creation epic. The Kyshar ring is the line that gives the world its shape.
Made to order as a couple’s ring or wedding band in rose, white, or yellow gold. Priced individually.
Kyshar ring takes its name from Kishar — one of the first deities born in the Babylonian creation epic, the Enuma Elis. In the beginning of that story, there were only two things: Apsu, the god of freshwater, and Tiamat, the goddess of saltwater.
Their waters mingled in the darkness before the world had form. As a result of their mingling, the first generations of gods emerged. However, it was the second generation — Anshar and Kishar — who gave the cosmos its fundamental structure.
Anshar was the ‘whole sky’: the celestial horizon, the arch of heaven seen from below. Kishar was the ‘whole earth’: the terrestrial horizon, the edge of the world seen from above. Furthermore, Kishar was not merely a divinity but a principle — the cosmic boundary between the heavens and the ground, the line that makes the sky and the earth into two distinct things, the horizon that gives the world its shape.
The Kyshar ring is named for that boundary: the line where creation became defined.
The Design of the Kyshar Ring
The Kyshar ring translates the geometry of the cosmic horizon into 18k gold. The band is faceted and precise — a surface of clean geometric cuts that catch and reflect the light in multiple directions simultaneously.
As a result, the Kyshar ring reads as a form that holds many angles at once: light gathered from the whole sky, reflected to the whole earth. Therefore, it is a ring built on the idea of the horizon: the line that holds everything in relation.
The Horizon Line
The faceted surface is the soul of this design. Specifically, each cut plane catches a different angle of light, so the band seems to change as the hand turns — now bright, now shadowed, now both at once.
Worn as a wedding band or couple’s ring, the Kyshar ring sits on the finger like a horizon: a fixed line from which everything else takes its position. Furthermore, no two moments reveal the same combination of lit and shadowed facets.
In this way, the ring carries Kishar’s essential quality: the sense that the line between things is not a limitation but a definition, and that without it, nothing has a place.
Kyshar Ring in 18k Gold
In rose gold the faceted band glows with warmth, each plane reading at a different depth of amber and gold, like a sunset horizon. In white gold the Kyshar ring turns cool and bright, the facets reading with the clarity of polished crystal against a clear sky.
In yellow gold it radiates with full golden intensity — the most direct echo of the cosmic horizon at the moment Kishar first drew the line between the heavens and the earth. Whichever metal you choose, the facets hold the light and define the space.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Kyshar ring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The faceted surface demands digital modeling above all: every cut plane must be placed at the exact angle so the ring reflects light in the intended pattern, the edges between facets must be clean and consistent, and the proportions must sit comfortably on the finger as a daily-wear band.
Hand-finishing then polishes every facet to a mirror shine so each plane holds its full reflective quality. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
Like every Friszman MD creation, the Kyshar ring is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold. Explore the full rings collection to see how each design draws its form from the ancient world.
