Meryn Ring
$0.01
A faceted geometric wedding band in 18k gold, its angular surface encoding the Celtic understanding of sacred union — two natures meeting in one form, remaining distinct within their bond.
The Meryn ring is available as a couple’s ring or wedding set in single metal or two-tone. Priced individually.
Meryn ring draws its name from the Welsh tradition, where Meryn is a name that carries the quality of the sea — its depth, its capacity to hold things, its nature as the place where two shores meet. In Celtic culture, the sea was not merely a body of water but a boundary between worlds: the place where the living world ended and the otherworld began, where the drowned went and the blessed sailed to reach Tír na nÓg, the land of eternal youth.
As a result, the sea carried a sacred quality in Celtic understanding that no other landscape possessed. Furthermore, the sacred union in Celtic tradition was often described in terms of the meeting of land and water — the shore as the place where two different natures come together and find their boundary.
The Celtic handfasting ritual, the original form of the wedding ceremony, bound two hands together with a cord and declared the union before witnesses; the geometry of the knot was the geometry of the bond.
The Meryn ring translates that quality of sacred meeting into a band of 18k gold: the faceted geometry of the ring’s surface as the meeting of many planes in a single form, the two-tone metal as the meeting of two natures in a single band.
The Design of the Meryn Ring
The Meryn ring is a faceted geometric band in 18k gold — its surface cut into clean angular planes that catch the light at multiple angles simultaneously. The faceted form is both architectural and alive: precise in its geometry, dynamic in its reflections. In the two-tone and mixed metal versions, the warm and cool metals run through the facets in alternating registers, so the ring carries two voices in the same geometric form.
As a result, the Meryn ring reads as a wedding band that has encoded its meaning in its structure: the facets as the many angles from which a shared life is seen.
The Sacred Geometry of Union
The faceted two-tone surface is the soul of this design. Specifically, no two facets read the same in the same light — some bright, some warm, some shadowed — so the band seems to contain more than its simple circumference would suggest.
Worn as a couple’s ring or wedding set, the Meryn ring expresses what the Celtic tradition always understood about sacred union: not the merging of two things into one, but the coming together of two different natures that remain distinct within their bond.
Furthermore, the geometric precision of the facets makes the ring comfortable for daily wear while remaining visually present at every glance. In this way, the ring carries the quality of a vow that has been thought about carefully.
Meryn Ring in 18k Gold
In rose gold the faceted band glows with warmth, the angular planes reading rich and intimate. In white gold the Meryn ring turns cool and precise, the facets catching light with the clarity of cut stone. In yellow gold it radiates with full golden intensity, the geometry of the band reading bold and bright.
In the two-tone mixed metal version, warm and cool alternate across the faceted surface, so the ring carries both voices simultaneously — the sea and the land, the depth and the light.
Craftsmanship and 3D Precision
Each Meryn ring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing. The faceted geometric band demands digital modeling above all: every plane must be angled precisely so the ring reflects light in the intended pattern, the edges between facets must be clean and sharp, and the proportions must sit comfortably for daily wear as a wedding band.
Additionally, in two-tone versions, the metals must meet cleanly at their transitions. Hand-finishing polishes every facet to a mirror shine. This is the precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.
A Made-to-Order Piece
Like every Friszman MD creation, the Meryn ring is made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold. Available as a couple’s ring and wedding set.
