Chleo Earrings

$0.01

Drop earrings in 18k gold, each holding a single cultured pearl — the most enduring gem, formed slowly in the dark. The Chleo earrings are named for Clio, the Muse of History, keeper of what matters and guardian of what lasts.

Made to order in São Paulo in rose, white, or yellow gold.

Description

Chleo earrings take their name from Clio — Kleio in ancient Greek, the Muse of History, keeper of the record and guardian of everything the world has ever known or done. She is the one who ensures that what matters is not lost: daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, the goddess of Memory, she stands at the edge of the past and decides what crosses into the future.

In ancient art she is shown with a scroll and a chest of books, the archive of human experience in her hands. There is something quietly profound in naming a pearl earring for the Muse of History, because the pearl is itself a kind of record — a layer of light deposited slowly in the dark, year by year, until something small and improbable becomes something luminous.

The Design of the Chleo Earrings

The Chleo earrings translate that idea into 18k gold and a cultured pearl. Each piece is a drop earring — clean and architectural in its gold element, opening at its base to hold a single cultured pearl that hangs at the lowest point, perfectly round and luminous.

The gold above the pearl is deliberately restrained so that nothing competes with the stone: the design exists to frame the pearl, the way a sentence exists to deliver its final word. The Chleo earrings are built on the understanding that the most enduring things do not announce themselves — they simply remain, and in remaining, become irreplaceable.

Memory and Light

The contrast between the clean precision of the gold and the organic luminosity of the pearl is the soul of this design — structure holding something that cannot be made, only grown.

Worn as drops, the Chleo earrings frame the face so that the pearls fall at the jaw, catching the light the way the moon catches the sun: gently, completely, from whatever angle you look.

No two pearls are identical, and none catches the light twice the same way, so the earrings carry a quiet life that changes with the day and the hour. They are simple without being plain, understated without being forgettable.

Chleo Earrings in 18k Gold

In rose gold the setting glows with warmth, the gold reading rich and intimate against the cool luminosity of the pearl.

In white gold the Chleo earrings turn cool and precise, the setting catching the light cleanly so that the pearl seems to float free of the metal.

In yellow gold the frame radiates with full golden intensity, the oldest and most direct pairing of gold and pearl in the history of jewelry, echoing the treasury rooms and portrait jewels of the ancient world. In every metal, the pearl is the heart of the piece.

Craftsmanship and 3D Precision

Each Chleo earring was developed in 3D modeling software and brought to life through precision 3D printing and meticulous hand-finishing in São Paulo, Brazil.

The gold setting demands digital modeling: the cup that holds the pearl must grip it securely while remaining visually light, the proportions of the drop must balance the weight of the pearl so it hangs true, and the two earrings of a pair must mirror one another exactly.

Hand-finishing then polishes the gold to a high shine that complements the pearl’s own luster without competing with it. This is the kind of precision that only the Friszman MD process can deliver reliably.

A Made-to-Order Piece

Like every Friszman MD creation, the Chleo earrings are made to order and hand-finished in 18k gold, conceived where mythology, memory, and enduring beauty meet.
